Kean Ontiveros, age 17, of Lame Deer
December 29, 2002 – November 21, 2020

Kean Felix James Ontiveros, also known as Muddy Mamba, was called home by our heavenly father, on November 21, 2020. He was just 17 years old.

Kean was born on December 29, 2002 to Howard Ontiveros and Tami Farr-Ontiveros.
From the moment he was born, he brought nothing but joy to our entire family. He had an incredibly unique, one-of-a-kind, personality that will never be able to be replaced.
He had a smile that could lite up an entire room. If you knew Kean, then you knew how he liked to joke around. He was such a quiet soul but when he spoke you better be ready to laugh because he was so comical and hilarious. He had such a big heart that you could feel the love that he had to share. His family considered him the dog whisperer because he had an undying love for the family pets.

He had a love for the game of basketball. He traveled to many basketball tournaments with his traveling basketball team, the Native Stars. He created a strong brotherhood and friendships on and off the court. His teammates were also his family. He loved spending time with his friends and teammates who became family, his brothers, and his cousins.

He attended school at St. Labre Indian School thru his Junior year. He stayed in the dorms when he was a sophomore. He participated in cross country and basketball. He was currently enrolled at Lame Deer High School for his Senior year. He was excited and looking forward to the upcoming basketball season. He liked to talk smack to his friends about upcoming games if they attended a different school.

He was ready for his senior year of basketball. Whether it was in the driveway; getting shots up or calling on his big brothers for a game of 1 on 1, at the courts in muddy, running games with the brothers, or making his way to CPRD in Colstrip with whichever buddy he had with him for the night or the weekend.

Kean loved to play his Xbox One, he had many battles on NBA 2K with his friends and brothers. He played countless hours into the night but when he did take a break to get some snacks, or drinks he made his presence known with a joke a little dance move blocking the tv or trying to cross you over coming down the hallway.

He worked his first job this summer at the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Housing Authority in Lame Deer. He made sure to make it every day to help make the rez a little more beautiful by cleaning and mowing yards. He always worked hard and did everything he could to do the best in whatever it was that he was doing.

Preceding him in death are his paternal great grandparents, Joseph Littlebird Sr. and Martha Little Whirlwind Whitecrane, grandparents, Felix James Ontiveros and Deloris Little Whirlwind; maternal great grandparents, Milton and Mamie Eaglefeathers, grandparents, Bob Holland and Marietha Eaglefeathers; maternal aunt, Delpha Eaglefeathers; paternal cousin, Larenzo Ontiveros.

He is survived by his parents; his siblings, Mitchell, Rusty (Devin), Tevan (Brittney), Kiah (Seth), Laila and Cesar Ontiveros; Paternal grandfather, Myron (Cheryl) Littlebird; grandmother, Erlyce Little Whirlwind, Laura Lonebear; Maternal grandmother, Mildred Eaglefeathers; Paternal aunts, Mellissa (Marvin) Ontiveros, Edina (Brian) Red Star, Ethel Brady; Paternal uncles, Roger Oldmouse, Jordan (Caroline) Little Whirlwind, Cletis (Kerry) Lockwood, Joey Littlebird; Maternal aunt, Tyra Eaglefeathers, Lari Beartusk,Shandi Eaglefeathers, Melissa Lonebear; Maternal uncle, Chey Hendrickson.
