WINONA REPUBLICAN-HERALD, Thursday, November 7, 1918:
Priv. Otto G. Ehmcke, formerly of this city, died of pneumonia in France Oct. 115, according to a message received here today. Priv. Ehmcke was employed in the bookkeeping department of the Watkins Medical Co. prior to leaving here with the July draft quota. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. J. H. Ehmcke of Cleveland, O., and the following sisters: Mrs. W. J. Conners and Mrs. W. P. Moran, Winona; Mrs. F. W. Sanderson and Miss Anna Ehmcke of Cleveland, O. One brother, C. E. Ehmcke, Winona, also survives.
This soldier was originally buried in France, but was returned to Winona, MN in Jan. of 1921. His final resting place is currently unknown.
