Barbara A. (Edelbute) McIntyre, 89, passed away on Veteran’s Day at her daughter, Kim Stephen’s home in Sacramento, Calif., surrounded by loving family. She was born in Altoona to Clyde O. and Rachel Edelbute. Surviving are her daughter, Kim; two sons: Michael and Terry; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and “adopted” family members. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers: Clyde Edelbute Jr. (killed in battle in WWII) and William Edelbute; and sisters: Virginia “Ginny” Appleman and Jeannette “Gussy” Carr.

Barb and Mac graduated from Altoona High School in 1950. They frequently returned to Altoona for class reunions. Mac was a career Air Force sergeant. After living in various U.S. locations, including Altoona, the family permanently settled in Sacramento in 1967.

Barb was a gifted artist, creating many paintings in multiple mediums. She was an avid golfer and loved raising pedigree boxer pups. She and Mac were very active in their local Elks lodge.
