Ella Katherine Glover
Katherine Glover, 81, died September 28, 2007, at Hendrick Hospice Care, in Abilene, TX. Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Clinton. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Visitation will be today from 5:00-8:00pm at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home on Robinson Rd.
Born, December 26, 1925, in Belzoni, MS, Katherine was the daughter of Walter and Edith Matthews. She grew up in the northern delta of Miss. She moved to Jackson during WW II, where she met her future husband, Sgt. John O. Glover. They were married April 4, 1945. She retired from School Pictures, Inc. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, making candy and traveling. She went to Alaska many times to visit her oldest son and his family, and had just taken her first cruise to Mexico last March.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she loved teaching the children lessons of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her three brothers, (Bob, Ray, and Charles); and her sister, (Ruth).
Survivors include her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Gil and Sandy Glover of Alaska, and Johnny and Carolyne Glover of Texas; eight grandchildren, Allen (Colleen) Glover, Aaron Glover, Denise (Ed)Irish of Alaska and Jason (Beverly) Glover of Oklahoma, Christopher Glover, Janet Massey, Kimberly (John) Dewitt of Texas, Amanda (Josh) Hill of Idaho; and niece, Gina (DeWayne) Eady of Florence, who was the daughter she never had. She also was survived by her nine great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margaret , Barbara and Betty Matthews; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
