Elliott was the tenth of eleven children born to Newton Dudley and Lucy Ann (Fountain) Caldwell. He married Etta Vistine (Garrison) and they had ten children: Bertha Lee, Ruby Faye, Julia C., Willie Etta, Esther Jennett, Roy Elliott, Effie Helen, Alpha Lou, Newton, and Mary Charlene.

CALDWELL SERVICES SCHEDULED

Elliott Jackson Caldwell, 89, Idabel, died at approximately 12:30 a.m. today in the McCurtain Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 24, 1885, in Mineral Springs, Ark., he had lived in what is now McCurtain County since 1896. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Roy of Idabel and Newton of Chicago, Ill.; eight daughters, Bertha Phillips of Oklahoma City, Ruby Domazia of Sonora, Calif., Julia and Willie Taylor of Williams, Miss., Esther Laxton of Herit, Calif., Helen Carter of Durant, Alma Hubbard of Fayetteville, N.C., and Charlene Carpenter of Baton Rouge, La., 32 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are schedulled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Forest Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Cecil Corey officiating.
Arrangements and burial in Forest Hill Cemetery will be under the direction of Norwood-Welch Funeral Home.
