Husband of Bertha N. Maynard of Eureka. Father of Mrs. Claudie Knies of Eureka; Mrs. Marie Bugg of Fortuna; and Mrs. Ruth Wordell of Danville, California. Brother of Horace Maynard of Eureka, and Mrs. Myrtle Selleck of Fremont. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews.

A native of Shawnee, Oklahoma, he came to California at the age of six, and resided for the past 20 years in the Fortuna and Eureka areas. He had worked for over fourteen years as Maintenance Foreman at Pacific Lumber Company, retiring in 1965. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 205 of Fortuna. Age 71.

Friends are invited to attend services at the Chapel of the Ferns Cooper Mortuary Saturday, June 19, at 11 a.m. with Bishop C. Richard coffey of the Eureka Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints officiating. Concluding services will be at Ocean View Cemetery, Eureka. Pallbearers will be Daniel Knies, Cecil Bugg, Danny Elias, Rockey Taylor and Tonie Farlan.
