Stephen Francis Behan

Birth.
Stephen Francis Behan, son of James Behan and Christina Behan, formerly Corr, was born on 26 December 1891, at 34 Hardwicke Street, Dublin.
His father was a Painter.

Marriage.
Stephen Behan, a bachelor, a House Painter, from 13 Russell Street, son of James Behan, a Painter, married Catherine Furlong, a widow, from 28 Harcourt Street, daughter of John Kearney, a Grocer, on 28 July 1922, at University Church, St. Stephen's Green, Dublin.
The witnesses were,

A Republican, he took the Anti-Treaty side in 1922, and was interned for two years until the subsequent Civil War concluded.

In the mid 1930's, the family moved to 70 Kildare Road, Crumlin.

Death.
Stephen Behan, aged 79, married, an Old Age Pensioner, late of 70 Kildare Road, Crumlin, died on 13 July 1967, at St. Kevin's Hospital, Dublin.
The cause of death was Congestive Cardiac Failure, Hypertension, Heart Disease, recent operation for Carcinoma of the Rectum, certified.

He was reputedly a member of "The Squad", formed by Michael Collins to counter the effects of British Intelligence agents during the War of Independence
