According to the Boston death record Jabez was a 22-year-old married printer residing at 37 West Orange St. when he died 11 months after first being diagnosed with Tuberculosis. Burial was at the city's Mount Hope Cemetery.
No information has been found thus far regarding Jabez' marriage.

Death of a Printer – Mr. Jabez M.B. Bullock, brother to Col. [William W.] Bullock, Mass. 30th regiment, died at the residence of his sister, Mrs. D.M.R. Dow, No. 27 West Orange street, this morning, of consumption. Mr. Bullock served his time in the Traveler office, and was an industrious young man. He left this city some months since, in ill-health, and worked for a time in New York, but returned home to find a resting place for his bones. He was about 23 years of age. His funeral will take place on Monday afternoon next, from his late residence as above. His remains will be deposited in the Printer’s Lot at Mount Hope.
