Born in Scotland to William Paterson and Janet Laird. Married Elizabeth Blaikley and moved to Milton Ontario. Served in the Scotch Militia and WWI as a Military Police. Had his many injuries, including loss of a leg. Also lost his brother Duncan and a daughter Mary in 1917 in France. John and Eliz had 13 children all together. One is my mom Roberta Paterson Kavelman. He played the accordion for my mom who was a highland dancer. He is buried close to two daughters, mom, Roberta and one other daughter Pearl. His stone has a Mason symbol. Buried beside his wife.
