Delbert Earl Ammons, 80, of Statler Run Road, Fairview, WV died December 1, 2020 in the John Manchin Sr. Assisted Living Center in Farmington, WV.

He was born September 18, 1940 in Core, a son of the late Oscar Burl Ammons and Icie Mae Johnson Ammons.

Mr. Ammons was a retired coal miner and last worked as a buggy operator. He was a United States Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Lola Lorraine Brewer Ammons; one son, Randy Ammons of Falling Water, WV; one daughter, Vicky Hartley of Wadestown; three brothers, Buddy Burl Ammons of Jakes Run, Donald Wayne Ammons of Mooresville and Ronald Blaine Ammons of Mooresville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Statler, Freeda Moore, and Alberta Ruth Ammons who died as an infant.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 4-8 PM Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 PM Sunday with Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery at Mooresville.
