Alfreda E. Westrick, 101, Ottawa, died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa, Ohio.

She was born August 23, 1908, in New Bavaria, Ohio, to the late Theodore and Josephine (Okuley) Eiden. On September 11, 1929, she married Adam Westrick, who died August 31, 1982.


Alfreda is survived by her children, Vincent (Joan) Westrick of Miller City, Regina (Earl) Scheckelhoff of Ottawa, Delbert (Marilyn) Westrick of Ottawa and Raymond (Kathleen) Westrick of Defiance; 15 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; six great-stepgrandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lavina Steffen and Leona (Norbert) Steffen, both of Miller City.

Preceding her in death were a grandchild; two sisters, Viola Brown and Evelina Barker; and two brothers, Bernard and Gilbert Eiden.

Mrs. Westrick was a homemaker. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and its Rosary Altar Society.

A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Father Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bavaria, Ohio.
