SAN ANGELO - Asencion Torres, Jr. 75, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020, in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the Rosary being at 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 10, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Belvedere Memorial Park under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Torres was born November 12, 1945 in San Angelo. Asencion married Gerarda Gatica on March 12, 1966 in San Angelo. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2014.

Asencion has been a lifelong resident of San Angelo. He worked for San Angelo Motor Co. from 2001 until his retirement in 2012. Asencion worked many years as a custodian at Immanuel Baptist Church and at Robert E. Lee Jr. High School. Asencion was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He loved to go golfing, camping, pitching washers, and barbecuing. Asencion was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Asencion would buy, repair, and resale old lawnmowers. He was a family man who loved all his children and grandchildren, he showed that love in his own way. Asencion had many aliases: June, Chon and Chuco by his close friends and cousins.

Survivors include two daughters, Nora Torres and Joe Chavez, and Norma Torres; 5 sons, Paul Torres and wife Irma, Gabriel Torres and wife Belinda, Oscar Torres and wife Cynthia, Roger Torres and wife Yolanda, and Adam Torres and wife Melinda; a sister, Irene Jones; a brother, Johnny Manuel Torres and wife Marisa; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Asencion was preceded in death by his parents, Asencion and Senovia Torres; a son, Adrian Torres; and a brother.
