Cheif Basil Two Bears was born on April 15, 1883, in Cannon Ball, North Dakota, the son of Tasonkakokipapi and mother is unknown.

Basil Two Bears is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Basil was a herititary Cheif under his grandfather Chief Two Bears. Basil helped his tribe in many ways. He was elected as Tribal Chairman in 1929-1930 and is from the Cannon Ball District.

He married Annie Alkire in 1907 in his hometown. They had seven children during their marriage.

He died on June 26, 1959, in Garrison, North Dakota, at the age of 76.
