Mrs. Edna Pauley Brookins of 19 West Street, wife of Charles W. Brookins, well know shoe merchant, died at Littauer Hospital Sunday afternoon at 3:25. She had not been in good health for sometime but her condition was not considered Serious until taken to the hospital.
Mrs. Brookins was born in the
Kingsboro section of the city, the daughter of the late George and Josephine M. Pease Pauley, descendants of pioneers who first settled in the Kingsboro section.
She was educated in the local
schools and was a member of the First Methodist church, Cayadutta Chapter, 166, OES and the YWCA.
Besides her husband, the only
survivor is a niece, Mrs. Edward
Miller of Rutland, Vt, and several cousins.
The funeral will be Wednesday
afternoon at 3 at the Kennedy
funeral home, 150 South Main
street. The Rev. Elmer C Lewis
of the First Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Prospect Hill cemetery.
