Alice Marie Beaver, 86, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 6th, 2020, a little after sunset. Born in Hialeah, FL in 1934, she married John M. Beaver Jr. at the age of 17. The family later moved to Live Oak in the 1950's, where Marie and her husband established a trucking company, alongside raising a family of five children. She was best known for her commitment to their thriving business, an unwavering devotion to her husband and family, a strong love for her Savior, a steadfast friendship to people both near and far, a great sense of humor, and infectious joy. Mrs. Beaver was preceded in death by her husband, both her parents and all 5 of her siblings. She is survived by her sons Wayne (Susie) Beaver, Jon M (Patsy) Beaver, Craig Beaver, Larry Beaver all of Live Oak, Donald (Grace) Beaver of Atlanta; her daughters Teresa Beaver and Tina Hart, both of Live Oak; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Marie was loved by all who knew her. Those close to her often referred to her as "Nanny". She truly had a servant's heart in the most sincere sense. She poured into each family member or visitor who crossed her doorstep. She made each visit a special one. Not one person left her home or presence without her sharing with them from her wealth of scripture, practical knowledge, and Godly wisdom. She bestowed many a gift, from Bibles and books, to hand-stitched blankets, flashlights, and cookware. All of these were items she felt could make a house feel more like home. The greatest gift she offered was her time. She took time to listen, care, and minister to the needs of others. Much like Jesus' example, she met people right where they were. She always picked up each conversation exactly where she left off from the visit before, never wanting to miss a single detail of what had transpired in between. People often questioned how Mrs. Beaver was able to leave people feeling like they were the most important person in her life. It is because Marie had a heart that followed hard after God. John 13:35 says, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one for another. "This form of selfless love is indeed a special quality that set Nanny apart. The twinkle of her eyes, her memorable laugh, and her gentle spirit will forever be in our hearts. Her Kingdom impact is far-spread, as she made the world a better place to be. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain. We trust that at this very moment, she is in Heaven with The Father and we look forward to the day that we can visit with her again. Visitation for the family will be 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, December 10th at Daniels Funeral Home, and a graveside service will be held on Friday, at 3pm in the Live Oak Cemetery with Chris Musgrove officiating. Nanny loved people and felt it urgent to share the truth of God’s word to as many as she could. We would like to continue her legacy. If any would like to give to this cause, donations can be made to Gideons International, in her honor.
