MAMIE LEE EPPERSON was the daughter of Herman Epperson Sr. and Mrs. Rebecca (Douglas) Epperson.

She was the maternal granddaughter of Henry Douglas and Mrs. Rena (Jackson) Douglas.

Obituary
"Funeral services for Mamie Lee Epperson, of Jefferson, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Lewis And Walker Funeral Home, in Jefferson, with the Rev. H. Beckham officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

A native and lifelong resident of Marion County, she was born January 23, 1917, to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Epperson Sr. She attended Marion County public schools. Ms. Epperson was a homemaker, and she belonged to Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include eight brothers, Herman Epperson Jr., of Los Angeles, California, Clifford Epperson, of Jefferson, and James Epperson, Alios Epperson, Robert Epperson, Lee Ike Fisher, Gabe Burton and Jessie Jackson, all of Dallas; seven sisters, Janey Williams and Louise Epperson, both of Jefferson, and Dorothy Louden, Sallie Olds, Mattie M. Epperson, Sarah Ann Williams and Carolyn Fisher, all of Dallas; one aunt, Mrs. Willie M. Walton; one uncle, Bob Giles; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tommie Lee Hightower, Charlie Wright, Charles Bonner, Wallace Johnson and William Louden. Honorary pallbearers are Ms. Epperson's nephews, Jewel Bass, and others."
