W. H. “Dub” Chaplin, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 at Riverchase Nursing Home in Quincy, FL.

He was born March 28, 1931 in Waycross, GA. His parents were the late William Chaplin and Mary Kirkland Chaplin. Dub retired from Atlantic Coastline and the Olin Corp.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Marion Wildes Chaplin; his second wife Louise Gibbs; and his son Charles Chaplin.

Survivors include his children, Melody C. Durden, Robin Chaplin (Shirley), Bobby Gibbs, Sr. (Sheila), Sianna Carpenter (Jake); grandchildren, Lamar Chaplin (Jennylynn), Tammy Chaplin Knoch (Joseph), Tina Durden Nix (Tony), Michael Chaplin (Amy), Michelle Durden Smith (Stevie), Robbie Chaplin (Lisa), Dede Durden Joyner (Chris), Wendy Chaplin Mobley (Reggie), Stephen Chaplin (Traci), Mary Sheely (Kyle), Diana Carpenter (Jake), Bobby Gibbs, Jr.; great grandchildren, Cindy Nix Thomas, Lee Nix, Lily Chaplin, Regan Chaplin, Anna Leigh Mobley, Keaton Mobley, Charlie Chaplin, Elijah Chaplin, Ellie Chaplin, Modelyn Knoch, Kalea Jones, Abby Chaplin, Henry Carpenter, Sean Sheely; and great great grandchildren, Aiden Thomas, Bristol Thomas, Emersyn Thomas, Isley Nix, Isaac Nix.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (December 11, 2020) at Greenlawn Cemetery in Waycross, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
