Allen “AP” Johnson, 88 of Southern Pines, passed on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Heritage Place Senior Living in Fayetteville.

A graveside service will be held 1:30PM on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Mr. Johnson was born April 27, 1932 in Fairmont, NC to the late Clyde and Lillian (Page) Johnson.

He joined the US Army after high school. After his military service AP began building homes and developing land in the early 1960s developing Highland Trails, The Blue Farm and several other communities in the area. He was involved with the Sunday school class at Southern Pines First Baptist Church where he was a member for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Johnson in 2011; his daughter Bronwyn Johnson in 2018; two brothers, Clyde and Bill Johnson; four sisters, Margaret Stewart, Matelyn Arnette, Helen Arnette, and Lillian Ruth Floyd.

He is survived by a son Haynes Johnson; a sister, Shirley Dickens; sister-in-law, Gladys Johnson; a grandson, Dylan Johnson; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
