She was already suffering from leukemia when she appeared in her only-ever screen project, a 1982 film under GC Films titled "Miracle of Love" where she starred opposite Gabby Concepcion and Snooky Serna and where she incidentally portrayed a cancer patient, with scenes shot in Germany and Italy. When her illness was made public while the movie was being promoted, the film producer was accused of using Roxanne's "supposed" illness to attract more publicity for the film. She never lived long enough to see her own film since she had already died from leukemia before the premiere of the film, which also showed footage of her actual burial rites. By then, the public had realized that her illness was for real all along.
