Joseph Barkley, son of the late John R. and Betsey Barkley of this village passed away at the home of his daughter,Mrs. Harry Peters in Cortland after a brief illness from bronchial pneumonia. Funeral services were held Sunday and the remains brought to the Southwick Cemetery for burial. Mr. Barkley is survived by his wife,one son,Charles Barkley and one daughter,Mrs Harry Peters,and three grand children. Deceased was a resident of this village for a number of years and many friends extend heartfeld sympathy to the bereaved family. Several from here attended the burial services at the cemetery.
