HUGHES SPRINGS - Services for Olabell Abernathy, 82, of Hughes Springs will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 2, 1999, at the Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Pearce and the Rev. Mickey Rorex officiating. Burial will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Abernathy died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at her residence. She was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Gregg County, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs. Mrs. Abernathy was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Abernathy on April 17, 1998; two sons, David Abernathy and Billy Abernathy; one daughter, Kathy Abernathy; one brother, Aubrey Franklin; and one sister, Bonnie Harrold. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Marshall W. "Neal" Abernathy Jr. and Luan of Richardson; five grandchildren, Tommy McClain, David McClain, Tracy Strauss, Loral Abernathy and Marisa Abernathy; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Hughes Springs First Baptist Church.
