Vernice Young was born on October 2, 1924 to the late Willie Young and Julia Whiting Young. Mother Vernice confessed her to Christ at a early age. Later she joined Simon Chapel No. 2 and served as an usher and other capacities. She also served as Secretary of The Evergreen Usher Federation for over 33 years. Mother Roberson remained a faithful and dedicated member until her death.
she was united in holy matrimony to J.T. Roberson and after a few years was blessed with 3 handsome boys, one of which preceded her in death as a infant. She loved sewing her own clothes and quilting, crossword and word search puzzles, reading and cooking. Mother Roberson loved people, especially her children and grandchildren.
Mother Vernice was employed with the Panola County School District working with the Green Thumb Program until her retirement.
Mother Vernice was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Young and Julia Young Osborne; a brother Ernest Young; husband J.T, Roberson, SR; and an infant child.
Mother Vernice Roberson departed this life peacefully on August 13, 2019. Her legacy will be cherished and continued through her family: her loving and devoted sons and daughters in-law; 6 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grand grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
