Sally Jo was born September 12, 1945 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Sarah Kohr. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Fort Valley and enjoyed keeping her home. On occasion, she was known for playing the Georgia Lottery, baking pies, and bowling as a member of the 600 Club. Sally Jo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be missed by everyone who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Rose Crum.
Sally Jo is survived by her husband of 56 years, George Bechtel; children: Joseph (Sheila) Bechtel of McDonough; Timothy (Alesia) Bechtel, Sr. of Roberta; and Michelle (Randy) Francis of Warner Robins; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Weaver of South Carolina.
