Berwick native had worked in clerical field
Catherine L. (Peters) Swartz, 81, of Lower Pottsgrove Township, Pottstown, widow of Michael J. Swartz, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at her home.
Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Franklin and Eleanor (Roper) Peters.
Mrs. Swartz was employed by the former Mrs. Smith Pie Co., Pottstown, working in the clerical department. She had also worked for Bursich surveyors and engineers of Pottstown.
She is survived by two daughters: Michele Ann, wife of Joseph Buchler, Pottstown, and LeAnn, wife of Scott Rutherford, North Kingstown, R.I.; one son, Michael J. Jr., husband of Jennifer Swartz, Chesterfield, Va.; two brothers: John Peters, Texas, and Franklin Peters, Berwick; seven grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Joey Buchler, Alina Rutherford, Kiley, Kyra, Maddie and Mickey Swartz.
She was predeceased by two brothers: Charles and Harold Peters.
Graveside services were held today at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Douglassville. Officiating was Father Andrew Van Buren.
Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown, Pa.
