Shirley Cochran: The Man, The Myth, The Legend!

Shirley was the best Husband, Brother, Dad, Papa, Uncle and friend to everyone. He never knew a stranger.

He was a true Angel on earth! He had a heart of gold and he dedicated his life to serving the Lord, his family and helping anyone who needed it.

He loved his farm and going to auctions, just to bring home a new animal to surprise the kids with.

He took pride in keeping his yard spectacular! Any Summer day you could drive by and see him outside riding his tractor with his straw hat on or tinkering with something outside.

He loved to set up at the flea markets with Mom so he could buy, sell or trade his knives and watches and make some new friends. He loved to joke around and make people laugh!

The world will miss his beautiful smile, but heaven has gained a very special Angel!

He was married to Ruby Scott Cochran for 68 years. He had three children: Darlene Cochran Williams of Indianapolis, Jerry Wayne Cochran (Betty) of Mooresville and Vanessa Kay Cochran (Johnny Trammel) of Indianapolis. He had four grandchildren: Tommy Wise, Carla Cochran (Jen), Karen Cochran and Angela Cochran (Kevin Tandy). He had eight great grandchildren: Karri Wise (Andy), Kyle Wise (Taylor), Kaylee Wise (Seth), Carson, Draken, Cory Blanford, Addi Mills and Mya Tandy. He had an older sister: Jeanetta (Junior) Allen.

Shirley was preceded in death by his parents: Mary Peyton Cochran Trailor, Tommie Cochran and two sons in laws: Joel D Wise and Harold S Williams.

Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10 at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township. Reverend Scott Cochran will be officiating. Burial will follow at West Newton Cemetery.
