North Creek - Arthur C Gage, 46, of state route 8, died unexpectedly Friday, Aug 9, 2002, after being stricken by a heart attack.
Born June 17, 1956, in glens Falls, he was the son of Merle (Granger) Coulter and the late Frederick L. Gage.
In his youth, Arthur attended Johnsburg Central School, participated in Cub Scouts and 4-H, and worked at the 1000 Acres Ranch Resort.
He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and was stationed in Puerto Rico, Maine, and Boston before his honorable discharged.
Throughout his working years, Arthur was employed with Barton Mines, gore Mountain Ski Center, and Great Eastern Lumber Company.
He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his father, his stepfather, Edward D. Coulter; a sister, Bonnie D. Gage; a nephews, Lonnie Gage; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Wood, have all predeceased him.
Survivors besides his mother include his daughters, Amanda Brown of glens Falls and Amber Gage of Wilton; two brothers, Teddy Patton and his wife, Missey of Bakers Mills, and Scott Patton and his wife, Sandy, of Richland; two sisters, Charlene A. Wood of Corinth and Shellie M. Teachout and her husband, Michael of Johnsburg; one grandson; three granddaughters, one nephew, three nieces; two great nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on the family from 7 to 9 PM Monday evening at Alexander Funeral Home, 4479 State Route 28, North River.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Burdett, officiating.
Burial will follow at Bates Cemetery, Johnsburg.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to the Family Treatment center for Alcoholism, a program of Glens Falls Hospital, 10 Harlem Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
