Son of William Albin and Philothea Davis, husband of Charlotte P. Taylor, whom he married about 1855 in New York, and father of William, Edward, Charles E., Clarence, Leonora "Nora" (married Frederick Zimmer), Merritt G., and Frank Albin.

In 1870, Edward D. Albin, aged 40, was living in Sag Harbor, New York, with his wife, Charlotte Albin, aged 30, and children, William Albin, aged 14, Charles Albin, aged 12, Clarence Albin, aged 10, Leonora Albin, aged 8, and Merrit Albin, aged 5. He was shown to work in a cotton factory.

In 1880, Edward Albin, aged 50, a carpenter, was living in Sag Harbor, New York, with his wife, Charlotte Albin, aged 40, and children, William Albin, aged 24, Charles Albin, aged 19, Norah Albin, aged 17 (shown to be married), Merrit Albin, aged 14, and Frank Albin, aged 9.

In 1900, Edward Albin, aged 60, widowed, born March 1840 in New York, was living on Chestnut Street in Southampton, New York. Living with him was his daughter, Nora Albin, aged 24, born February 1876 in New York. He was shown to be a carpenter.

Obituary - Edwin Albin, a former resident of this village, died in Eastport on the 20th inst., aged 68 years. Mr. Albin lived in Sag Harbor for many years and brought up a large family of boys and girls. He was a carpenter by trade and a master workman. Clarence Albin, Merritt Albin and Miss Nora Albin, his children, survive him, all live in Sag Harbor.
