Roman Catholic Bishop. Ordained a priest in 1970, Vivas Robelo was named Auxiliary Bishop of Managua in 1981. In 1982 he was the victim of an attack by angry parishioners from the Santa Rosa Parish in Managua following the sudden removal of Fr. José Arias Caldera as parish priest by Archbishop Miguel Obando y Bravo due to his support of the Sandinista government. In 1991 he was named Bishop of León by Pope John Paul II, a position he served until his resignation in 2019. He died as a result of respiratory complications several months later.
