James A., son of Solomon (Gideon, Gideon, Abraham, Isaac, John, Robert) and Mary Eliza (Rogers) Pease; b. Sep 09, 1840 in Rocky River, OH; d. Mar 28, 1922 in Westlake, OH; m. Nov 17, 1863 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio Asenath Abell; b. Nov 03, 1845 in Cleveland, OH; d. Nov 26, 1914 in Dover, OH. James and his brother Calvin founded the Pease Funeral Home in the 1870s. They also operated a general store. During the 1880 census James and his family were in Dover, Cuyahoga County, Ohio and he was working as a grocer. James became sole operator of the Funeral Home, while Calvin did likewise of the store. During the 1900 federal census, the family was living in Dover Twp, OH. In 1920 James was a widower living with his son Clifford in Dover. Mary E. Osborn was mistakenly listed as Clifford's mother, She was his mother-in-law.
