Harry Kenneth Clark, Sr.

Mr. Clark was born October 17, 1933 in Hall County to the late Claud Clark and Euzella Braselton Clark. He passed away Thursday December 17 at his home following an extended illness. Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Salem the flagship of the 6th Fleet in the 50s. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 42 years total service. He was the rural mail carrier for Route 9 Gainesville for many of those years. Kenneth was a lifelong member and deacon emeritus at Union Baptist Church. He had a tremendous love for his church and participated in all its activities until his health prevented it. Kenneth was well respected in his family, his profession, his church and his community. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Others often commented that Kenneth was an especially easy going and friendly man. He and Jenneter loved nothing more than playing host to others whether at their pool in the summer or having people over to play ‘Rook’ in the winter. They often hosted celebrations on holidays, and birthdays. Kenneth loved these gatherings. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and rooted for the Atlanta Braves and Falcons.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jenneter Jones Clark and by his precious daughter Lynn Clark Kelly. Other family preceding Kenneth in death were sisters Helen Clark Gilleland and Mary Clark Turk. Four brothers, Bronson Clark, Harland Clark, Ray Clark and J.W. Clark also preceded him.
