His parents, early settlers of this country, are still living. he received his education in the common schools; taught school some years previous to his marriage in 1866; was married to Ella J. Paxson, who was born in this county. They have three children; Arthur E., Frank P., and Clarrie E. He owns 198 acres of land, well cultivated, and worth $60 per acre; they are both members of the M.
