She was a widow and had been a Houston resident for 27 years, according to her obituary, but she and several of her children were living in Detroit, Michigan, at the time of her son Joseph Weldon Haenelt's WWI draft registration record in Detroit.
She was survived by three sons, Joseph W. Haenelt of Houston, Earl A. Haenelt of Oklahoma City, and Paul L. Haenelt of Sheridan, Wyoming; two daughters, Mrs Eugenia Mae (Haenelt) Clark of Detroit and Mrs Juanita (Haenelt) Clark of Houston; one brother, Robert Breil of St. Petersburg, Florida; and eight grandchildren.

Haenelt and he is linked as the father of Paul Timothy Haenelt, buried in Houston National Cemetery. He had apparently changed his surname from Haenelt to Burke. His sister, Juanita (Haenelt) Clark applied as a temporary administrator of his estate in 1937, per the Harris County Clerk records.
