ROBERT E. STATTEL, 61, of MARLBORO, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Neptune, he was a lifelong resident of Marlboro. Mr. Stattel was an owner and third generation farmer at Brookrest Farm, Marlboro. He was also a member of the N.J. Vegetable Growers Association, the N.J. Farm Bureau, and the Co-operative Growers Association. He was a member of Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro. Mr. Stattel was also an active member of Boy Scout Troop No. 86 of Marlboro, where he helped many boys complete their Eagle projects, and helped organize many camping trips. He was an exempt member of the Marlboro Fire Company.
Mr. Stattel was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Daniel Stattel. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Kathleen; two sons, Kevin and David, both of Marlboro; two brothers, Kenneth and William, also of Marlboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main St., Freehold. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Old Brick Reformed Church, Route 520, Marlboro, followed by interment at Brick Church Cemetery, Marlboro.
