Jerry was born in Fordland, Missouri to Clarence Delmar and Lucy Katherine (Edwards)Oxenreider. He was the last of their fourteen children. At age 18 he was drafted and served in WWII. His first marriage was to Roberta Woodruff. To this union was born four sons, Michael, Timmy, Jerry Lee and Daniel (Danny). Jerry re-enlisted into the military and served in Korea and Vietnam. He was highly decorated for his service before retiring. Jerry's second marriage was to Mary Magdaline Stroud Oxenreider who had one daughter and two sons.
Jerry and Mary made their home in Lowell, Arkansas. Jerry was buried with full Military Honors.
