Fought in the Spanish American War. Joined the Army in 1898 and was discharged in 1899. His unit was Company M 13th Minnesota Infantry

Math Lemm
Math Lemm, a native of Stearns County and a member of the Voluntary Infantry of Company M, 13th Minnesota Regiment during the Spanish American War, died at his home in Seattle, Wash., on December 24. He was about 62 years old.
Mr. Lemm was born and raised near Luxemburg and after serving in the Philippines during the war, he lived in the country for some time. He then moved west, living at Grand Birch, British Columbia before moving to Seattle about six years ago.
In addition to his widow and one son in Seattle, Mr. Lemm is survived by five brothers and two sisters, Ignatius and Wendelin Lemm, Melrose; Henry Lemm, St. Cloud; Nick Lemm, Walker, Minn.; William Lemm in Idaho, Mrs Nick Weber, Flaxville, Montana and Mrs. Nick Becker, St. Cloud.
