She was born March 27, 1944, in Columbus, Nebraska, the daughter of Herman and Elsie Bitter Hoth.

She married Jim on November 27, 1965, in Columbus, Nebraska.

She worked in Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Idaho, and Arkansas in nursing homes as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Catherine lived in Mountain Home since moving from Stuttgart, Arkansas, in 2009.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading.

Catherine is survived by her husband, James Schmidt of Mountain Home, AR; two daughters, Amy Schmidt of Mountain Home, AR and Melissa (James) Tharp of Rolla, MO; three grandchildren, Olivia, Morgan, and Xander; and one great-grandson, Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Hoth; and grandson, Brayden.

Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus, Nebraska.
