The Fresco Bee The Republican (Fresno, California), Friday, April 20, 1962
Mrs. Virginia Zipps, 50, of Del Rio, Tex., died in a local hospital today after becoming ill while driving through Fresno on the way to visit a daughter in San Jose.
Her husband, Ben, told the coroner's office his wife was ill when they left Del Rio, but her condition became worse. He stopped a highway patrolman who directed him to the hospital.
Mrs. Zipps died about 15 minutes after entering the hospital. An autopsy is scheduled.
The daughter in San Jose is Mrs. Betty Sylvia [Silva].
Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Louise [sic-name is Lucille] Newell of Texas and Mrs. Bernice Tate of Los Angeles, and two sons, Bob Lusk of San Joaquin and Jimmy Lusk of Modesto.
The Lima-Salmon-Erickson Funeral Home in San Jose will conduct the funeral services. Orr's Colonial Chapel is handling the local arrangements.
