Grandma was born in Moberly, Missouri in 1934 to her parents. Later Donnie divorced and my grandmother around 3 1/2 moved to California with the rest of her family from Wagoner, Oklahoma area, while her father remarried and had more children in the State of Washington. Grandma went on to lose her family, her great grandmother, her granny, her grandpa, her mother, 3 Aunts all to tuberculosis, at a young age. She survived and went on to live with her Aunt "Boo", Uncle and 3 cousins. Early on she had a daughter who was put up for adoption. Next she meets my grandfather, Calvin. They married on January 1955, later having my mother while he was in the Army Service. In 1958 grandma left Texas and Calvin behind for brighter days ahead in California. She had a toddler and one on the way, that was only known to her. The baby was born in California. Later Grandma would go on to meet a man by the name of Jim. He was on time for their date and treated her with respect. They fell in love and married on the 27th of January 1960 in Los Angeles, California. Grandma had worn a beautiful light teal blue dress with white polka dots with matching handbag, heals, hat and white gloves. Instant family of 4. Along came my Aunt Sherri in 1963. Their family of 5 was complete.
Grandma was a manager at General Monitors in Costa Mesa. Her and her husband left their jobs their and purchased Wood's Market of Upland, CA from her cousin Helen and her husband. They had many good years there. Family came now and then to work with them. Mostly my Aunt Sherri would manage for them when they where not there. I was able to work when I came for visits. Some happy memories there. One day they were held up and Papa saved Grandma's life as Grandma was taken by gun point. Papa gave one warning to the man, the man wouldn't let grandma go, so he shot him and grandma ran. Papa saved Grandma's life that day. They went on to sell their little store as it didn't make sense for them to continue on with it. They moved back to Costa Mesa, Papa went to work for FHP and grandma opened an in home daycare. This provided for them.
May Grandma rest in peace now. She passed away on her oldest grandchild's birthday. Also we had to put down her grandpuppy (Furgie)also on the 14th, who she was very fond of.

Gravesite Details

No one will tell me where her ashes are located.

Update: per Jim's cousin, her ashes were scattered at sea. I know Gma DID NOT want this. She hates the ocean. God forgive those who did this to her.
