Patricia "Pat" Jane Shaw age 87, of Ashland, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 at her residence. She was born October 19, 1933 in Ashland, the daughter of the late James M. and Helen E. (Burns) Strickling. Pat had been a lifelong resident of Ashland. After testing balloons at Mohican Rubber, Pat went on to be the bookkeeper at Western & Southern Life Ins., and later at the Salvation Army on Third St. After retiring she remained a homemaker and supported her family through years of activities. Pat was a member of the Salvation Army Church.
On October 13, 1956 Pat married Jerry A. Shaw who after 50 years of marriage preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter Teri S. Shaw of Ashland; many nieces, nephews, and a variety of friends and family both locally and from many years of attending horse shows.
In addition to her parents and husband Jerry, Pat was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy L. Rishel, P. Allene Liston, Martha J. Peach, Ruth G. Chester and Dorcas A. Kroll; along with her brothers, Donald E. Strickling, Everett M. Strickling, Leonard R. Baird and Howard F. Strickling
Graveside services will be held at Chestnut Grove Cemetery on Monday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Major William Francis officiating. Heyl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
