Loving Mom and Grandmom remembered for her smile and her laugh.

Ida was the daughter of Henry and Anna (Matthies) Ruder she was born at home in Bloom Township, Cook County. Henry and Anna had three other children Irivn Adam, Henry Fredrick, and Marie Margaret, they would divorse. Anna would later marry Otto Triem and have four more children Ruth, Leonard Carl, Orville George, and Gertrute Ann.

Ida grew up on a farm in Monee (it's now owed by Governer State U. Left to the school by her brother Irvin).
German was spoken in the home and she did not speak english until she went to school. She would graduate from the 8th grade in 1920 she did not go to high school she had to stay home and help with the children.
She would meet Norman Fink and know him for a few years their first date was to a dance in Monee. They would marry on June 1, 1929. They would have two children Ronelle Ruth b. 9-17-34, and Donald Lee b. 8-8-36. Sadly Norman would die on March 7, 1937 leaving Ida and the two children. She worked at the Whiting Corp.in Harvey IL were Norman had worked before his death. She worked in the Payroll Dept.and did the time sheets.
She would later marry Normans younger brother Irwin on December 2, 1939 they would have a son Norman Irwin b. 9-3-45.
My Grandmom was a great cook to this day I miss her German Potato salad. My Mom's is great but I can tell the difference.
