She is preceded in death by, USMC Vet Harold (Buddy) O’Neil.
Carolyn is survived by brother, Dorman Owens; sister in law, Patsy Owens; daughter, Rebecca Thompson; granddaughters: Allison Mason ( fiancé Justin Swesey ) , Chelsee Thompson ( Fiancé Trey Utley) and Sarah Blackman; great grandkids, Dayton Thompson and Bayleigh Swesey.
Carolyn ( Cricket ) O’Neil loved spending time with her family, cooking, shopping at Walmart and going camping. Cricket was loved by so many people and she loved everyone like her own family. She was a Christian woman and went to church when she could at Pace Assembly of God. She helped raise Allison, Chelsee and Sarah, when she didn’t have to, because she had a heart of Gold! She will be missed dearly.
I loved my granny with all of my heart! She was my “MOM”. Growing up I, Allison Mason and Chelsee Thompson, lived with her and granddad, Buddy O’Neil, on 46 acres. Six of it was a lake that we grew up fishing in. Granddad had a self-feeder that helped all the fish get big and fat. We use to ride golf carts and 4wheelers all around. Granny use to love horseback riding and owned a ton of farm animals: goats, ducks, geese, chickens, horses, pigs, and even bottle raised a baby cow. She made the best potato soup and “O’Neil stew”. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved going to The Great Smokey Mountains in the fall to see the beautiful trees change colors. She was a very outgoing woman.
