Gerald was born July 16, 1936, in Louisville, MS, to Grace Chamblee and Walter Grady McGee. He was a graduate of Louisville High School and attended East Central Community College, before joining the U. S. Air Force. After his military service, he worked at Joe McCully Grocery, and as a machinist for the T. Z. Brown Machine Shop. Later, he worked as a guard at Taylor Machine Works. Gerald was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lila Nell McGee Miller; and a brother, James P. “Fibber” McGee, an infant son, William Charles McGee, and a son-in-law, Bobby Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Ann McGee of Louisville; three daughters, Sharon Kennedy and Lisa (Chris) Parker, both of Louisville, and Deborah (Stephen) Brown of Brandon, MS; eight grandchildren, Sara Roberts, Mary Margaret Klun, Jonathan Parker, Jeremy Parker, Jessica Parker, Christopher Brown, Michael Brown, and Katie Knight; four great great grandchildren, Jackson Roberts, Miles Roberts, Bailey Roberts, and James Knight; and a step great great grandchild, Belle Knight.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cummins, Kevin Hudson, John Wright, Charlie Wright, Terry Arnett, and Coker Fryery.
