Funeral Service for Johnny Junior “J.R.” Barnes, 67 of Gore, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Gore, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Stevenson Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on May 19, 1952 in Paradise Hill community, Oklahoma to Nellie (Ingram) Barnes and John Barnes and passed away on December 30, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was married to Betty Jo (Chisum) Barnes on September 18, 1970 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Mr. Barnes was a construction worker and carpenter. He married his high school sweetheart in 1970 and was blessed with his 4 children and his grandchildren whom h followed religiously, watching sports and music that they were involved in. He was a humble, caring husband, father, brother and son whom held his family as his greatest love.

Survivors are:

wife: Betty of the home;

3 daughters: Patricia Rich of Gore, OK, Jo-Nel Anthony of Gore, OK and Rose McGee and Ryan of Gore, OK;

1 son: Bucky Barnes and Sharlene of Gore, OK;

10 grandchildren: Joseph Anthony and Becca, Dakotah Rich and Gracie, Whitney McGarrah and Anthony, LeeAnna Barnes, Blane Barnes, Autumn Rich, Snowy Rich, Hunter McGee, Kyler McGee and Wyatt McGee;

2 great grandchildren: Ameila and Willow McGarrah;

2 sisters: Geneva Ray and Charlie of Gore, OK and Carla Duvall and Dan of Gore, OK;

5 brothers: Orvil Barnes and Glenda of Westville, OK, David Barnes of Keys, OK, Tom Barnes of Gore, OK, Mike Barnes and Joyce of Sallisaw, OK and Rob Barnes and Janice of Chattanooga, OK;

1 sister in law: Donna Barnes of Gore, OK;

numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister: Carolyn Barnes and 1 brother: Jimmy Barnes.

Active Pallbearers will be Orvil Barnes, David Barnes, Tom Barnes, Mike Barnes, Rob Barnes and Larry Terrell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan McGee, Joseph Anthony, Dakotah Rich, Blane Barnes, Hunter McGee, Kyler McGee and Wyatt McGee.

Viewing will be 10 am – 8 pm Tuesday at Agent Millsap Event Center in Gore.
