Dorothy Camera Hopkins, 82, of Hamden beloved wife of the late Stanley N. Hopkins passed away on January 1, 2021. Loving mother of James (Wendy Nylen) Hopkins of Bridgeport, Anthony and Brian Hopkins both of East Haven and Joseph (Dea) Hopkins of Shelton. Also survived by 5 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Sister of the late Rose Marie Miranda, Leopoldo and Robert Camera. Dorothy was born in New Haven on April 27, 1938, a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Leonora Giammattei Camera. Prior to her retirement she was a bookkeeper at the Subway World Headquarters and also worked for SEAR'S. The Hopkins family would like to thank the Staffs at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home and CT Hospice for their compassion and care.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Wednesday morning at 11:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 11:30. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call WEDNESDAY MORNING from 9:00 to 11:00.
