Gave His Blood to Wife in Vain
Blood transfusion from her husband, Herbert Leon Cooke of 10410 Jamaica Ave., Richmond Hill, an operation which physicians deemed necessary in order that- she might undergo a more serious operation for intestinal - trouble, failed to save the life of Mrs. Herbert Leon Cooke at the Mary Immaculate Hospital, Jamaica, on Sunday night. Mrs. Cooke was removed to the hospital last Thursday after she had been examined by several physicians including. Dr. Kenneth Keith MacApline of 131 W. 87th St. Manhattan, who was to perform the operation Saturday night, between 11 and 12 o'clock, "her husband gave a good
portion of his blood in an attempt to save her life. She died Sunday.night at 10 o'clock. The funeral services were held at her late residence last night with Interment this afternoon In Maple Grove Cemetery, Richmond Hill. Beside her husband she is survived by two daughters, Ada, 5, and Adelaide, 3.

Adelaide V. Cooke, the dear and faithful wife of Herbert L. Cooke, of 2332 Jamaica Avenue, Richmond Hill, who died Oct. 17, 1920, leaving a legacy of sorrow which will never lessen or end. Her noble virtues in life as wife and mother have created fund and endearing memories which will forever cling. Our sad hearts live in that hallowed mound now sanctified with your precious remains. To the bereaved you were
