A graveside service honoring the life of Doris B. Greene will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the mausoleum at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Dr. Greg Davis of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Doris B. Greene was born on October 16, 1922 in Eldorado, Arkansas to Richard M. and Pearl Beasley and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 98.

At a young age Doris and her family moved to Monroe, Louisiana where she graduated from Neville High School and attended Northeast University. She later moved to Shreveport and went to work for Arkla Gas Company. Shortly after moving to Shreveport, she met the love of her life, Bobby L. Greene, whom she married Friday, September 13, 1951. Together in 1959, they started Bobby L. Greene Plumbing & Heating Co., Inc. They were both members of Broadmoor United Methodist Church for many years. Doris enjoyed playing bridge and watching golf. She also enjoyed many years of vacationing and going to the horse races with her beloved husband. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many. Being a homemaker was one of the many joys in her life. She was loved so much by her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Pearl Beasley; her loving husband of 64 years, Bobby L. Greene; son-in-law, Keith Broadway and grandson, Duane Broadway.

Left to cherish her memory are son, Richard Lester Greene and wife, Cindy; daughters, Nancy Renee’ Broadway, and Suzanne “Suzy” LaRue Nance; sister, Nancy Post; sister-in-law, Delores Evans and husband, Roy Dale; grandchildren, Justin Greene and wife, Karla, Michael Greene and wife, Donna, Kasey Broadway Brown, Dawson Broadway, Dillon Broadway, Hannah Burroughs, Kayli Burroughs, and Fisher Nance; step-grandchildren, Leah Broadway, Lindsey Broadway Gilreath, Keith Broadway Jr., Cara Teague, Justin Vucinovich, Chad Vucinovich, Jeremy Franklin; great-grandchildren, Hudson Greene, McKinley Miers, Hunter Kendrick, Tori Gilreath, and Elliott Vucinovich and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving Doris as honorary pallbearers will be Fisher Nance, Michael Greene, Justin Greene, Hudson Greene, Hunter Kendrick, Dawson Broadway, Dillon Broadway, Jeremy Franklin and Elliot Vucinovich.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 3715 Youree Drive, Shreveport, LA 71105 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103.
