June Carol Ray Mahoney, 84, of New Haven, passed away on January 4, 2021, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

She was born on August 17, 1936, in New Haven, Kentucky, the daughter of William Cooper Ray and Mary Dorothy Medley.

June and Charles Gerald Mahoney were married

She was the former June Ray, a retired employee of Walmart and a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. June was very charitable and a person of great faith. Her favorite saying and one that she lived by was, "Let Go, Let God".

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cooper and Dorothy Medley Ray; her loving husband, Jerry Mahoney; her sisters, Mary Alvey, and Dorothy Jane Ray, and her brother, James F. Ray; along with a grandson, Stephen Hall.

She is survived by two sons, Michael W. (Stephanie) and David G. (Becky) Mahoney; a daughter, Tammy Stanley (Matthew); two sisters, Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Johnson, and Mary Ann Cahoe; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Catherine Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the St. Catherine Academy.

We knew June through Tammy, she and I used to work together at Head Start. Each time we would see June, she had the sweetest smile on her face. Prayers, love, and hugs for the Stanley and Mahoney families.
