Rose Cloretta Knight Gragson went home to be with the Lord on January 3,2021 at age 83. She was born to Hilary .D. and Ora (Reynolds) Knight on September 4, 1937 in LaRue County, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Buford "Boots" Gardner and Birchell Gragson; her son, James Buford "Boots" Gardner; and sister, Geneva (Knight) Walters.

She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Gardner, two grandsons, J.D. Powell (Kara) and Brandon Jones; three great grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews.

Rose graduated from Munfordville High School, Munfordville, KY in 1956. She retired after a long meritorious service with the federal government at Ft. Knox. She recently returned to Elizabethtown after living for the previous nine years in The Villages, Florida. Rose was a member of the Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown. She loved life and was always "ready to go" whether it was to go shopping, see a movie or eat out. Rose will be remembered as the best coconut and chocolate pie maker in the world.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 13 at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home (Elizabethtown) with visitation from 12 to 2 p.m. Internment will follow at the Upton Kentucky Cemetery.
