Celinda Sue Abney passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Palestine Regional Hospital. She was born at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center of Waco on June 29, 1970.

Celinda was a loving mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Her presence will be greatly missed. She was a Christian and loved the Lord. Her contagious smile, warm energy, and compassionate love never went unnoticed. The most important thing in Sue’s life, besides the Lord, was her son, Jackson Abney, he was her world. Her favorite Bible verse was “The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1.

Graveside services will be held at Rosemound Cemetery, 3201 South 12th Street, Waco, TX on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 1:00 PM. The officiating minister will be Reverend Buddy Sipe.

Celinda is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Troy and Maudine Fulton, paternal grandparents Lela Mae and Dewitt Abney, and stepmother Joyce Abney.

She is survived by mother Peggy Phillips and husband Sydney Phillips, father Ed Abney, sister Charlotte Huckaby and husband Zeldon Huckaby, brother Troy Abney and wife Jennifer Abney, sister Deb Rasbeary and husband Robert Rasbeary, half-sister Lisa Elting, niece Mary Maynard and husband David Maynard, nephew Gary Huckaby and wife Jodi Huckaby, niece Erin Rasbeary, nephew Cameron Rasbeary, niece Amanda Spillman, nephew Tyler Lange, and multiple great nieces and nephews.
