Obituary: Trina Adler Goodman Berkowitz, 73, longtime Trumbull resident

Trina Adler Goodman Berkowitz, age 73, a long-time Trumbull resident, passed away, with her daughters at her bedside at home, on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, after a courageous fight against pancreatic cancer.

Born in Bronx, NY., a daughter of the late Irving and Betty Adler, a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, Trina then studied at Queens College.

Trina worked in advertising for Doyle Dane Bernbach in the early 1960s.

She was the widow of Marvin Morton Goodman. She then married William Berkowitz of Bridgeport, CT. Together, they ran Langport Tile Co., Inc., where Trina was the Design Consultant.

Trina is lovingly remembered by daughters, Dr. Jill Berkowitz-Berliner (Richard Berliner), Wendy Ment, Barbara (Todd) Tanger, and Eileen von Husen; sister Gilda Liebowitz, grandchildren Julia and Daniel Berliner; Alexander, Hannah, Noah and Jacob Ment; Annabelle, Joseph, Samuel and Talia Tanger; Max von Husen; and William Berkowitz.

She was an active member of Congregation B'nai Torah since 1966, serving on numerous committees over the years. Trina had live in Monroe, CT for the past 2 years. She was well-loved by her friends and her extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 2:00 PM at The Abraham L. Green & Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road in Fairfield, with Rabbi Colin Brodie officiating. Interment will follow at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association Cemetery on Black Rock Tpke. First shiva will follow at Congregation B'nai Torah. Second shiva minyan will be Thursday, June 9th in her home at 8 p.m.
